2021 Toyota 4Runner: Outdoor-Ready Like Never Before

September 17th, 2020 by

When drivers think of enjoying the great outdoors, it’s natural to think about the Toyota 4Runner. It’s the one vehicle that, since 1984, has proven it can handle anything from towing a boat to climbing hills – even as it provides more than enough room and comfort to transport the entire family to the most exciting of destinations.

The 2021 4Runner comes in that same spirit, augmented by some exciting standard enhancements – as well as updates to its TRD Pro model and a Special Edition.

You’ll recognize the TRD Pro model despite its new Lunar Rock color pallet. It’s a change from the familiar Army Green, and it speaks boldly of the 4Runner’s adventurous spirit.

The 2021 TRD Pro model 4Runner also offers new black alloy flow form wheels wrapped in Nitto Terra Grappler tires. The flow form improves ride handling and performance, particularly in the area of shock absorber tuning.

Finally, the TRD Pro offers re-tuned 2.5-inch Fox Internal Bypass Shocks that complement its off-road capable hardware. The result is improved trail driving isolation, along with high-speed performance that preserves all of 4Runner’s on-road comfort and steering response.

As if that were not enough, the 2021 4Runner Trail Special Edition offers even more in the areas of storage, convenience and styling. With color choices including Army Green, Cement, Midnight Black and Super White, the 4Runner Trail Special Edition boasts a 40-quart cooler and sliding cargo tray.

It can carry campers into the woods with dark gray TRD Off-Road wheels, plus a Yakima LoadWarrior rooftop cargo basket for added utility and gear-hauling.

For the first time, in 2021 all 4Runner models will come with LED lights, as well as LED fog lights, as standard equipment. Those opting for the Limited, Nightshade and TRD Pro grades will be able to enjoy LED high beams.

TRD Pro will also continue to offer RIGID LED fog lamps.

The 4Runner has always been known as the premium vehicle to take you into the woods, over the hills and by the river. In 2021, Toyota gives you even more reason to embrace 4Runner – not just for you, but for your entire family and for the love of the outdoors as well. The 2021 Toyota 4Runner is expected to arrive this fall at Jim Ellis Toyota of McDonough.
